Wendi Engum, PTA
I became a physical therapist assistant in my second chapter of life, following a lifelong love of movement and encouraging others to stay active. My approach combines strength, mobility, and attention to alignment, while finding ways to make treatment enjoyable.
I enjoy working with a variety of patients, from older adults maintaining their independence to young athletes returning to sports. I also enjoy helping people regain function after knee replacement surgery and have participated in exercise programs for people with Parkinson’s disease. I use manual therapy, stretching, and strengthening exercises that incorporate balance and stability. I also teach patients techniques they can use on their own to support their progress.
Outside of work, I enjoy camping, kayaking, and paddleboarding with my family, along with road and trail biking. Lowes Creek County Park is my favorite place to explore. In the winter, I enjoy cross-country skiing and occasional downhill skiing. I’m also a former yoga instructor and enjoy group fitness classes, running, and reading.
